Vintage Pair Of Marius Cavalo Golf Clubs, Brassie & Spoon.
Hickory Shafted Golf Club, 'Par' Driver.
A good pair of original persimmon wood socket head golf clubs with hickory shafts (stamped 'Made In England'), polished leather grips, heads marked 'Marius Cavalo, La Boulie' and with lead weights to the rear. The brassie with partial brass sole plate, 43 inches in length and an approximate 14° loft. A great pair of woods in good original condition and very usable for modern hickory play. The best balls for hickory play are low compression balls that will give at impact, such as soft feel balls or ladies balls.
Marius Cavalo was professional at La Boulie, France, from 1913 until the late 1920's or even early 30's. He played in the 1913 French Open and was professional at étretat in Haute-Normandie. His son Firmin Cavalo was Swiss Open Champion in 1939 and French Open Champion 1948.
La Boulie was designed by Willie Park in 1901.
