Vintage Gunlocke 'Bank of England' Office Chair.
A good comfortable swivel office chair by renowned American office furniture manufacturer Gunlocke, New York. The well built chair is known as their 'Bank of England Executive' chair and is made from bleached solid walnut with an upholstered green leatherette drop-in seat. The height can easily be adjusted by turning the cup on the bottom of the chair, amount of recline can also be tightened or loosened by the turn of a sprung knob. Raised on four metal castors. The bottom of the seat is stenciled '26012167, ICPN WAL, GUNLOCKE, 5 9 49'.
For over a century, Gunlocke has manufactured great furniture for large and small companies, government agencies and even U.S. Presidents. Gunlocke began in 1902 as a chair manufacturer before expanding to include other furniture products. They still make the 'Bank of England' chair today.
