Large Vintage Iron Club Fender.
A wonderful club fender with wrought iron swirls, shaped base and buttoned leather upholstery. The upholstered seat is 20 cm wide with the measurements inside the seat being 1m 53 cm. The frame work stamped N.B with a 'Crown'.
Fenders were all the rage in the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries adding an extra dimension to a fireplace by providing more seating. They were found in Gentleman's Clubs, libraries and billiard rooms of country houses.
