Brown Belted Leather German Military Officers Greatcoat.
A good quality gent's double-breasted brown leather calf - length greatcoat, motoring, motorcycle or trench coat. The full length leather coat has double belted closure with no buttons with two external pockets and one internal breast pocket on the left-hand side. The wide lapels can be turned up and buttoned up to keep out the cold. There is a slit at the back and an internal waist belt, also there are belt loops on the outside of the coat with the original double buckle 'Astor' belt (stamped Astor/Mod. HERA). Since its foundation in 1919, by Dr. Otto Berning in Schwelm, the 'Astor' company have been the go-to place for buttons, belts and buckles in the fashion and leather industry. One of the buttons is embossed "solide elegant" and these are often found on war time German garments. The vintage German heavy leather coat is presented in very good vintage condition, leather and stitching in very good condition, the inside is luxurious satin lining, there are buttons on the inside so an extra lining could have be added.

Officers and Officials of the German Wehrmacht, Luftwaffe and Kriegsmarine with ranking of officers were entitled to wear these coats as optional items and were given the choice to have them customized and tailor made as was the case with their uniforms.
