Vintage Rimless Aviator, Pilot Sunglasses.
A very good pair of rimless eye glasses by the American Optical Company (AO). The frames are engraved on the bottom of the nose bar with 'AO 1/10 - 12K GF'. The frame is gold filled with 12k gold and the arms are made of gold coloured metal and are in good condition and with nice extra frame detailing, the green tinted lenses are in great condition also.
In the late 1920's the American Optical Company filed for the patent on their new 'FUL-VUE' design. The idea was to raise the point at which the arms connected to the frames, removing them from the wearer's peripheral vision.
Size:- Frame width 13 ½ cm, arm length 11 cm.
