Les 24 Heures du Mans - Roger Labric (1949), illustrated by Géo Ham.
A large, original French volume of Roger Labric's classic motor racing work, Les 24 Heures du Mans: Histoire d'une grande Bataille pacifique et sportive. This highly sought-after 1949 edition, published by the Automobile Club de l'Ouest, is a remarkable tribute to the world's most famous endurance race - the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
This exceptional copy retains its original cream card covers and contains 471 numbered pages, richly illustrated throughout by the celebrated automotive artist Géo Ham. The book is printed on pure rag vellum paper with the Renage watermark, featuring numerous full-page colour plates and in-text colour vignettes that capture the drama and elegance of early Le Mans racing.
Roger Labric offers a detailed chronicle of how the event was founded and traces the development of its most significant races - combining historical insight with a vivid artistic presentation.
The book remains in excellent condition, internally firmly bound, with pages still joined along the top edge, showing only light age-related staining to the outer page edges. The colours remain vibrant and beautifully preserved.
