This trophy was awarded in 1860 to Walter Bradford Woodgate - Brasenose College, Oxford. Walter Bradford Woodgate was a notable oarsman and sculler, winning the Wingfield Sculls three times and various events at Henley Royal Regatta. He was twice in the winning Oxford crew in the University Boat Race, 1862 and 1863.
The Victorian silver chalice, goblet rowing trophy with repoussé floral decoration, hallmarked London 1860 with makers mark for Henry Holland. The size shown is for the cup only. It is 22 cm tall with the turned wooden base.
