Taxidermy, Bittern In Glass Case

Late Victorian Taxidermy Diorama, Bittern & Kingfisher.
A wonderful cased display featuring a European Bittern and a Common Kingfisher, set against a neutral background with dried plant material and moss-covered, sandy groundwork to evoke their natural wetland habitat. The adult Eurasian Bittern (Botaurus stellaris) is full-mounted with its head turned to the right, while the adult Common Kingfisher (Alcedo atthis) is shown in flight, positioned in the upper left corner as viewed from the front. Both specimens are enclosed within a period ebonised single-glass display case.
