Normandy Glass cider or wine carafe
French 19th century trio of beautifully simple and elegant, blown glass carafes. These are robust, thick-bodied, striated glass decanters with heavy bases. The trio comes in very good antique condition with normal wear.
This is a very nice set of three wine or cider carafes. Each of these large carafes will hold 2 litres.
The shape is typical of late George III carafes and decanters, but the neck flares to the rim. They may well have been used for cider as we believe that they originate from Normandy where lots of cider apples grow. However they work very well as wine decanters.
