Early Smooth Face Lofting Iron By J & D Clark, Musselburgh.
A good early example of a 1890's smooth faced hickory shafted lofting iron by J & D Clark, Musselburgh. The shaft is original and stamp 'CLS, John Wisden & Co. 21 Cranbourn St. London, J & D Clark, Special', the club head stamped 'J & D Clark, Musselburgh'. The grip is made of sheep skin (some missing) and is in a well used condition. The iron club head is pitted but otherwise a great looking, decorative club with fairly large face.

J & D Clark produced fine clubs for only a short period in the 1890's. His club heads were made by Willie Park, Jr, also Robert Condie.
