Vintage pair of Cecil Aldin prints 'Mated' and 'Revoked'.
A pair of rare original gaming chromolithographs by Cecil Aldin in the original oak frames. The colourful pictures are titled 'Mated' and 'Revoked' and each picture signed by the artist in the bottom left hand corner. Published by Lawrence & Bullen Ltd. in 1901. "MATED" depicts a couple of gentlemen playing a game of chess whilst "REVOKED" shows four gents in the middle of a heated game of cards.

Cecil Aldin (1870 - 1935) was a prolific painter, not only is he known for his sensitive depiction's of his dogs, but he also painted scenes of hunting and racing. Aldin was the Master of the South Berkshire Hunt and was elected a member of the Royal Society of British Artists in 1898.
