Cecil Aldin Fox Hunting Lithographs.
Set of eight framed fox hunting prints taken from Cecil Aldins book 'A Sporting Garland'. The antique prints are in the original oak frames, backboards and with paper trade label for 'Harris & Sons, Plymouth', the label with frame No. 74834 and dated 6.4.04. Six of the frames are of the size shown, two are are slightly larger in height at 25½ cm. As with most of Aldin's pictures in this genre there are great touches of humour throughout.

Aldin's book called 'A Sporting Garland' was published in 1902 by Sands & Co. The book was in 3 sections, Foxhunting (A-Hunting-We-Will-Go), Shooting and Angling, with the text by Henry Fielding. Each section had its own main illustration that was separately published as a large chromolithograph print, 'THE FIRST' (shooting), 'IN THE OPEN' (fox hunting) and 'A LIKELY SPOT' (fishing).

Prints are a little faded. Oak frames are clean, slight gapping on a couple of the miter joints.
