Vintage Autographed Duncan Fearnley Cricket Bat, Essex And Middlesex 1984.
A nice signed Duncan Fearnley cricket bat with a total of 26 original pen signatures on the front and back of the bat. The bat with decal 'Duncan Fearnley Worcester - England, Supreme, Ken McEwan. The Essex signatures to the front are very crisp and readable, the Middlesex autographs on the rear are faded. The bat has a rubber handle (slightly perished) and is in good condition.
Essex and Middlesex met at Lord's Cricket Ground in August 1984 for a three-day test match in the Britannic Assurance County Championship, Essex won by 4 wickets.
This bat could well be from that time, so of the signatures we think are on the bat are, Essex:- 1/KWR Fletcher, 3/JK Lever, 4/BR Hardie, 5/KS McEwan, 6/DE East, 7/PJ Prichard, 11/C Gladwin, 13/GA Gooch & 14/DL Acfield.
Middlesex are harder to decipher but the following players were in Middlesex's first innings and could well be on the bat:- GD Barlow, WN Slack, MW Gatting, CT Radley, RO Butcher, PH Edmonds, JE Emburey, CP Metson, NF Williams, NG Cowans & WW Daniel.
