Victorian Cricket Bat
Victorian Cricket Bat
Victorian Edward J. Page & Co. Cricket Bat.
A good early willow cricket bat made by Edward J. Page & Co., Surrey. The bat has a curved profile, cord strung handle, round shoulders and very attractive patination. The toe has nails in it possibly for extra weight and the blade stamped 'Edward J. Page & Co.' in a circle. One shoulder has 'Surrey' stamped into with an ink signature 'F. Doughty'. The back of the bat stamped 'Superior, Warranted'.
A very nice example of an early cricket bat.
