On the coach door is Oxford - London, whilst on the bodywork High Wycombe and Beaconsfield. To the top of the print is 'Published by Louis Meyer: The Black & White Gallery. 13 A Pall Mall. London. Louis Meyer helped Aldin to break into the print market by being one of the first to encourage him to design carriage and stagecoach pictures.
Cecil Aldin (1870 - 1935) was a prolific painter, not only did he paint the golfing scenes he also painted sensitive depictions of his dogs and scenes of hunting and racing. Aldin was the Master of the South Berkshire Hunt and was elected a member of the Royal Society of British Artists in 1898.
