Set of Cecil Aldin Fallowfield Hunt Prints.
This is one of Cecil Aldin's most famous hunting series 'The Fallowfield Hunt' which tells the story of a days hunting. It is a sequence of six pictures, The Hunt Breakfast at the Three Pigeons, Breaking Cover, Full Cry, A Check, The Death and finally The Hunt Supper. These original lithograph prints are in original frames but have been cleaned and have had new mounts. As with a lot of Aldin's pictures there are touches of humour and this is a great set of Fox Hunting pictures with great colouring, published by Lawrence & Bullen Ltd, London. The original framers trade label is on the back of the frames 'Gladwell Brothers, (Alfred Thomas Gladwell, Sole Surviving Partner). Dealers in Works of Fine Art, Carvers and Gilders, Picture Frame Manufacturers, Printsellers and Publishers, 8 Eastcheap, E.C. Removed from 164 Fenchurch Street, (Formerly of 20 & 21 Gracechurch Street), Manufactory : 156 Borough High Street, S.E. Established 1834. N.B. - The above (adjoining the London Chamber of Commerce) is our ONLY CITY ADDRESS - 8 Eastcheap.'.

The prints are all published by Lawrence & Bullen, and printed by Sir Joseph Causton & Sons Ltd, London, except the Hunt Breakfast at the Three Pigeons which was printed by Bemrose Ltd, London & Derby. They were both printers of Aldins' work, and possibly the Breakfast is a later replacement for one that got damaged, it is still an original from circa 1900.
