Pitch Pine Saddle Horse, Saddle Rack.
A wonderful small Victorian pitch pine saddle horse. The saddle rack is with an angled triangular hinged top which will open to use as a work surface. The base has two drawers and is raised on castors. This is a very similar saddle horse to that Musgrave & Co Ltd produced, but it does not have the cast iron triangular ends. The ends on this rack are also made of pitch pine and fold down so there is a flat surface to work on. The original purpose of a saddle horse was for cleaning, storing and repairing horse tack. Today this would work well as a piece of furniture in a home location, especially in a kitchen.
When open the work surface is 30 inches by 47 inches.
