Antique Mahogany Writing Table Attributed To Gillows.
A stylish, well-proportioned 19th Century mahogany free-standing library writing table/desk in the manner of 'Gillows of Lancaster'. The high-quality table with single drawer to either end, mahogany lined with particularly finely detailed dove-tail joints, both with working locks and single key. The rounded rectangular top with reeded edge and retaining excellent original colour and patina. Frieze with detailed corners and gadrooned edging. The high level of craftsmanship shows in the four turned fluted, tapering legs, terminating in the original brass cup castors. Castors stamped with a 'Crown' and 'B.S & Co. Patent'.
