A Threesome By Lionell Edwards.
A Lionel Edwards golf chromolithograph entitled "A Threesome". The artist is best known for his equestrian art but early in his career he produced illustrative work for many periodicals and this stylish golf scene is in a manner reminiscent of Cecil Aldin, John Hassall and Victor Venner. Print details "Copyright. Entered According To Act Of Congress In The Year 1904 By Landeker & Brown, London, England, In The Office Of The Librarian Of Congress At Washington".
A threesome shows a young gentleman on the twelfth green smoking a cigarette talking to his young lady partner. An old gentleman can be seen looking over the brow of the hill disapprovingly. On the ground next to the lady is an automaton caddie bag, whilst in the back ground is a silhouette of a horse and trap with a dog following.

A great colourful golf picture with a humorous side.

Mount size:- 42 cm high by 63½ cm wide.

At the time a partner was printed to this picture. It was titled Stymied! and shows the same older gentleman raging at the younger gentleman on the thirtieth green watched by his smirking young caddie and the younger gentleman's female partner.
