Golfing picture, drypoint etching by John R. Barclay.
A framed black and white etching of a golfer teeing up his golf ball. He is watched by his playing partner, a caddie is walking past in the background and two more golfers can be seen on the golf course. The fine original dry point etching is on antique laid paper with a large fleur-de-lys watermark. Signed by the artist in pencil in the lower left margin.

A dry point is traditionally done on copper plate, the image is engraved with an etching needle to create an impression of a drawing. When inked the plate can then be printed from again and again to produce an edition of prints.
