Original Golf Watercolour, Wentworth West Course, 18th Green By Arthur Weaver.
An excellent original golf watercolour and gouache* of the 18th green at Wentworth by Arthur Weaver. The picture depicting a golfer chipping onto the 18th green, the flag being manned by his caddie. His playing partner and caddy are stood to the right watching. There are several people under the trees also watching the progress of the match.
*Gouache is a type of paint consisting of pigment suspended in water. Gouache differs from watercolor in that the particles are larger, the ratio of pigment to water is much higher, and an additional, inert, white pigment such as chalk is also present. This makes gouache heavier and more opaque, with greater reflective qualities.
