Antique Long Nose Putter By Alex Patrick Of Leven
Antique Alex Patrick Driving Putter.
A very nice scare head long nose driving putter by Alex Patrick of Leven. The golf club has a lead weight to the rear, traditional horn slip along the leading edge of the sole, the polished beech wood head stamped 'A. Patrick', the original shaft with sheep skin leather grip. The club head with lovely light brown colour and great patina, the hickory shaft stamped 'Patrick, Maker, Leven' within a triangle. This is a very nice example of a golf club from the 1900's in excellent condition.

The early clubs are made with long slender shallow-faced heads with an ash or hickory shaft glued to the head by means of a splice or scare joint. This joint is then further strengthened by whipping with a pitched thread. All beautifully hand made by craftsmen of the time.
