Vintage Hickory Golf Club, George Nicoll, Leven.
A fine and nicely weighted dot punched faced spade mashie by George Nicoll, Leven. The hickory shaft with polished leather grip, the club head is stamped with Nicoll's 'hand' cleek mark, 'Rustless, SPADE Mashie, hand forged in Scotland' and in an oval stamp Tom Wilson, Littlehill.
The measurements shown are the length of the shaft with hosel and the width and depth of the face.
A great golf club iron in good original condition and very usable for modern hickory play. Approximate 40° loft.
Tom Wilson was born in 1890 in Aberlady. He was the professional at Kirkinthloch from 1921 until 1924, had a one year stint at Bishopbriggs before moving onto Littlehill until the mid 1930's.
