Hickory Golf Club, Spalding Wryneck Putter
Vintage Hickory Golf Club, Wry Neck Putter, Spalding.
A fine and nicely weighted line faced offset putter, wryneck putter by A.G. Spalding & Bros. The hickory shaft with polished leather grip, the rear of the club head marked 'A.G. Spalding & Bros., Hand Forged, Gold Medal, Rustless, Wryneck Putter' with Spaldings 'Anvil' cleek mark. In Britain Spalding's main business seemed to be golf balls more than clubs. On Spalding's clubs a variety of cleek marks were used, the 'anvil' mark was used in their forge in Dysart.
