A fine playable hickory shafted GEM putter. The hickory shaft with a polished leather grip, the club head is stamped 'GEM putter, Handforged, A.W. Gamage Ltd., Holborn' with a 'Flower' cleek mark of an unknown club maker. A great weighted usable putter.
A.W. Gamage Ltd. was founded by Arthur Walter Gamage, it became a very successful department store in Holborn, central London. It began in 1878 and soon grew large enough to take up most of the block on which it was situated, it was particularly well known for its toy and hardware departments.
