Auchterlonie was a family firm in St Andrews making hand crafted wooden golf clubs since it was established in 1895, by brothers Tom, David and Willie Auchterlonie. The brothers were sons of a St Andrews master plumber and were apprenticed to one of the famous Scottish club makers, Robert Forgan & Son, in the early 1890's. The Auchterlonie golf clubs were used by many of the top names in golf in the early 1900's due to the high level of quality and precision they offered.
Willie was 1893 Open champion at Prestwick and also professional to the Royal and Ancient from 1937-1963.
