The six lithographs with individual titles and all signed by the artist in pencil. Publishing details:- Copyright, Published Nov 25th 1912, by A. Baird - Carter, 70 Jermyn Street, London. The six titles are:- "They've Settled Among The Hags, And By Jove He's Royal.", "A Beast On The Skyline. Our Friend Of This Morning Again. Goodnight.", "The First Spy. All Hinds And Trash.", "A Blunder In The Mist. That's A Good Stag.", "That's A Better Beast Below The Top.", "Well Done Sir! He's All Right.". Framed in original decorative gilt frames with gold mount with circular aperture to give the impression one is viewing the subject from a telescope.
Vincent Balfour Browne (1880 -1963) was a Scottish sporting painter who specialized in Highland stalking and golfing scenes, and painted mostly in watercolour. born in Dumfries and studied at Oxford and said to have been a pupil of wildlife artist George Lodge. He wrote and illustrated many books on stalking and the red deer.
