A fine model of a stag standing on a naturalistic base. The stag and base are cast in spelter. The base signed L. Carvin and bears a Paris foundry stamp. This stag sculpture is in very good condition with nice detail and lovely patination.
Louis Albert Carvin 1875 - 1951 is a well known animal sculptor. He studied under Gardet and Fremiet and he exhibited regularly at the Salon des Artists Francais from 1894 to 1933.
