Vintage Leather Suitcase by Cleghorn of Edinburgh.
A stunning high quality tan leather suitcase. The case is with reinforced corners, chrome stud feet, strong single carry handle, two chrome locks and original cream cloth interior. The outer leather embossed 'Cleghorn Makers Edinburgh' with the initials 'A.L.S.'. The interior slightly stained but clean and with an oval label with makers details 'Cleghorn, 129, Princes Street, Edinburgh'.
Cleghorn of Edinburgh were the obvious choice for quality luggage in Scotland. They were prolific makers of high quality luggage and specially commissioned pieces. In 1935 Cleghorns convert a building on Princes Street into their new premises, they already had a shop on George Street but the redevelopment of the street meant they had to relocate.
