Cambridge University Association College Servants Double Rowing Photograph.
A good framed Cambridge Association College Servants rowing team photo of the 1922 1st boat crew, winners of the Inter U. & C.S. race. The photos are framed in a traditional oak frame with gold slip with a team photo on the left and a picture of the crew in their boat on the right. Mounted on the official photographers mount 'Stearn & Sons, Cambridge' with calligraphic legend and University crest.
It shows the names and weights of the crew as:-

Stearn & Sons photography studio was founded in around 1866 by Thomas Steran, an English photographer. Thomas Stearn pioneered the use of modern photographic techniques, and as early as the 1890's photographed the boat races from the riverbank. Thomas produced a number of children who became photographers in adult life - Henry C. Stearn, Walter James Stearn and Rupert Stearn.
The College servants (staff) were just as successful as the undergraduates on the river and won the inter Collegiate Cup in 1922-24 and 1932.
