Antique Taxidermy Fishing, Brown Trout in Bow Fronted Case by Cooper.
Antique Taxidermy Fishing, Brown Trout in Bow Fronted Case by Cooper.
Taxidermy. Preserved Cooper Fish.
A cased trout by Copper in a nice bow fronted case with gilt lines. There are two paper labels inside. A small paper trade label top left reads 'Preserved by J. Cooper & Sons, 28 Radnor Street, St. Luke, London, E.C', the second label with inscription 'caught June 9th 1906 weight 4 1/2 lbs'. The case contains a cleverly modelled fish set against a painted backdrop with realistic river bed setting by arguably the best fish taxidermist 'J. Cooper'.
