Ibex Head Mount By Rowland Ward
Ibex Head Mount By Rowland Ward
Vintage Ibex Shoulder Mount By Rowland Ward.
This prepared Indian Ibex has been prepared by one of the best taxidermists in the world, British taxidermist Rowland Ward. The Ibex is mounted on a good quality shaped oak shield, the reverse with carved initials R.W. (Roland Ward) with a white plaque to the front 'Shot by G.L. Hunting, Alchuri, 1919'. In recent years taxidermy has had a resurgence as a collectable and this Ibex, being a well prepared and fine specimen, would hang very well on any wall. It is inset with glass eyes, posed facing forwards and the horns have excellent curvature and colour to them.
An ibex (plural ibex, ibexes or ibices) is any of several species of wild goat (genus Capra), distinguished by the male's large recurved horns, which are transversely ridged in front. They are found in Eurasia, North Africa and East Africa.
