Slazenger Badminton Set In Wooden Box.
A fine Badminton set in original pine box made by Slazenger. The box has brass corner protectors, brass Slazenger carry handles and an ivorine disc with Slazenger's hexagram 'Best is Best, S & S L, Thro' the World' trade mark logo. The box lid has a paper label on the inside printed in black: Robert Day & Son, Army & Hunting Saddlers and Sports Warehouse, 103 Patrick St., Cork. The box contains 7 early feather shuttlecocks, a net, a pair of posts. The posts come in segments with weighted X feet for playing on solid ground or spiked for grass. A very rare set in excellent original condition.
There are four very nice rackets with this set which are not originally with it. The rackets are made by Jaques and are every good quality and the right period for the set.
Originally there are no rackets with this box and the rackets do not fit inside.
