Multiple Tennis Racket Press.
A very good lawn tennis racket press made of mahogany. The press can hold up to three rackets with its two wooden dividers and is complete with brass fittings and three bolts with cast brass wing nuts. The exterior of the mahogany press with a polished finish.
The press is photographed with a single press that came from the same source and is sold individually, stock # 27821.

This item was one of many Victorian tennis items that had been found in a summer house in the grounds of a Cheshire country house, Edge Hall. The vendor was an ancestor of Charlotte 'Lottie' Dod who won the ladies' singles title at Wimbledon five times in 1887, 1888, 1891, 1892 and 1893. She was then, and still is now the youngest winner aged only 15 years.
