Vintage Hickory Golf Club, Niblick, by Tom Stewart, St Andrews.
A fine and nicely weighted line faced niblick by Tom Stewart of St. Andrews. The hickory shaft with suede leather grip with the rear of the club head marked with Stewart's 'PIPE' cleek mark and the phrase 'T.S. St.A. REG.TRADEMARK'. The 'pipe' mark on its own was in use from 1893 to 1905, it was from 1905 and onwards that the phrase was added. Also on the rear of the club head 'Niblick', Special, Importe-D'Ecosse (imported from Scotland), J. Orengo - P.lemoine, L.Chintran St.Germain." The hickory shaft is original and is also stamped "Importe-D'Ecosse".
This is a fine club, ideal for hickory play.
A great golf club iron in good original condition and very usable for modern hickory play. Approximate 50° loft.
