This striking antique wooden plaque with three-dimensional relief captures the spirit of the Alps in warm, exquisitely hand-carved linden, (lime) wood. At its center sits a shield embossed with a Swiss cross, flanked and supported by traditional mountain equipment: crossed ice axes, a coiled climbing rope, a leather binocular case and a flask in wicker holder, a celebration of classic Swiss mountaineering heritage. Above the shield is the finely detailed head of a chamois (or ibex) framed by laurel-like foliage.
