Vintage Swiss Ice Axe, Delpic.
A good 'DELPIC' ice axe, the handle is made from ash with a good serrated steel pick and with a wide adze. This is a fine quality ice pick with a hole in the head for a securing leash, a pointed flat spike and a metal ferrule. The head is stamped 'DELPIC, made in Switzerland'. A very good vintage ice pick in good condition.
Ice axes are multipurpose tools used by mountaineers in both the ascent and descent of routes in frozen conditions.
