Oak Long Bow Box.
A very useful long narrow trunk set on six straight legs, the four end legs with moulded edges. A large metal carry handles at either end with three locks and handles on the front, locks with working keys. Reputed to have come from The Archers Hall, Edinburgh (there is a brass plaque on the lid 'Archers Hall, Edinburgh'). Archers' Hall is the club house of the Royal Company of Archers, the Sovereign's Bodyguard in Scotland. It is located at 66 Buccleuch Street in the Southside of Edinburgh. The narrow storage trunk was used to store archery equipment, arrows and yew wood long bows. With an added cushion it would make a very useful bench with the added use of storage.
We are quite sure that this box came from the Archers Hall as other items came from them at the same time. We believe that some of the fittings and the brass plaque was added later.

The price shown is for the storage trunk only, archery equipment & table sold separately.
