4½" Slater Pattern Nottingham Starback Wooden Fishing Reel.
A good, high quality, centre pin Nottingham Starback fishing reel made of walnut. The front plate with 3-screw brass centre plate incorporating quick release drum latch, two horn handles mounted on brass eye plates, an alloy spool back plate, brass annular line guide and pillars and brass foot and star back with incorporated optional check lever (blued steel check pawl with offset spring grooves). The reel is in good clean condition, it generally bears a patina commensurate with its age. No makers mark but the wooden Nottingham starback reels were first produced by David Slater.
Width size shown is without handles, handles are an extra 2½ cm.
