Hardy Fishing Rod, "C.C. de France"
Vintage Hardy fly fishing rod, the 'C.C. de France'.
The Hardy 'C.C. de France' is a split cane Palakona 2-piece rod made by Hardy's of Alnwick. The rod is in excellent condition with green silk whippings, suction joint, adjustable alloy universal reel holder, screw fitting in the butt for a spear and 10" cork handle. It has the registration number E48098 dating it to 1938. The rod is 9'10' long and is in the original Hardy's canvas bag, the cloth label is missing. The rod has the painted black inscription spiralling around the shaft 'the 'C.C. de France', 'Palakona' and 'Regd. Trade Mark, G.F.'. The butt and end rings are Agate, intermediate are snake rings.

Action: Inclined Stiff, for wet or dry fly.
Pieces: Two with one top. 'Palakona' split-bamboo.

Joints: suction.
Rings: Butt and end Agate, intermediate "snake".
Tyings: Ordianary spaced narrow bands, cane-coloured silk.
Reel fittings and furnishings: universal.
