The Hardy "Sussex Brook" 8ft Palakona Fishing Rod.
A rare Hardy of Alnwick brook rod, a 2 piece 8' split cane fly fishing rod in very good condition, The "A.E.M. Sussex Brook" rod. The registration number E75098, dating it to 1950. It has the inscription spiralling around the rod, 'The "Sussex Brook" Palakona Regd Trade Mark'. The rod is a 2 piece rod with wooden stopper, hardy canvas bag, original paper Hardy guarantee label, bronze ferrules, suction joints, cork handle with movable alloy screw reel fitting. Hardy were the first manufacturer to make split cane rods in hexagonal form as The Hardy 'Palakona' rod.
Measurements of the four pieces, handle 1m 23½ cm - 2nd piece 1m 22cm.
