Vintage Hardy Fly Fishing Rod, The 'Knockabout'.
A good and early Hardy Palakona 9ft.6" 'Knockabout' two piece split cane trout fly rod. The Hardy's of Alnwick rod is in excellent condition with 'Stud' lockjoint with stopper, crimson intermediate silk whipping, agate butt guide and alloy fixed screw reel fitting with Hardy's logo on it with two different Royal appointment seals. It has the registration number H4378 dating it to 1955 and comes in green Hardy canvas bag with cloth label. The rod has the painted black inscription spiralling around the shaft 'the 'Knockabout', 'Palakona', 'Regd. Trade Mark'.
