Hardy 10ft Palakona Fishing Rod.
A 2 piece 10' steel center split cane fly fishing rod by Hardy of Alnwick. The rod is in great condition with 'Lockfast' joint, cork handle, snake rings and screw grip alloy band reel fitting with reversible spear and button and stamped with the Pat No. 14137 and the registration number C84, dating it to 1920 - 22. The 10' long fly fishing rod is in an original Hardy's canvas bag, with label and has the black inscription spiralling around the shaft, 'The Palakona Regd, No. 246936'. Hardy were the first manufacturer to make split cane rods in hexagonal form as The Hardy 'Palakona' rod.
Measurements of the two pieces, handle 1m 56cm - 2nd piece 1m 46cm.
