A miniature model of the earth, scale 1:51,000,000, made by George Philip & Son Ltd. The Philips' 10" Challenge Globe is a highly detailed terrestrial globe mounted on a 13 cm square black bakelite plinth base with a chrome chapter with latitude degrees. The equator represents the zero degree latitude, 90 degrees north latitude marks the North Pole and 90 degrees south latitude marks the South Pole. The globe rotates on its axis from west to east, On the globe is the Northern Hemisphere, Southern Hemisphere with the countries, continents and oceans shown in their correct size.
