Vintage French Gaming Card Shoe, (Black Jack and Poker).
A beautiful card dealers shoe 'Le Banquier', made from mahogany with an alloy base plate and removable stop. The wooden base stamped '3409' (workshop release number), alloy base plate engraved 'Licence Exclusive Du BREVET FRANCAIS, No. 352434 "PORTAL" Jost & Cie. Paris'. Screwed on the side there is an ivorine plaque giving the odds for the Banker, in the corners J.A.J. Paris (Jean Anatole Jost).

Add a professional touch to your blackjack and poker games and deal the cards to each player in style. There is a weighted slider to keep the cards to the front of the shoe on ball bearings with a metal card stop to the front.

The French firm, French Jost & Cie of Paris, were a late 19th century, early 20th century games manufacturer and publisher. Renowned for their high-quality materials and precise mechanics, famous for their automata toys and games and casino equipment. An engineer and designer Jean Anatole Jost (1860 - 1926) set up workshops in Paris in 1885.
