VINTAGE SET OF HICKORY SHAFTED GOLF CLUBS, STAYNORUS.
A good set of six hickory shafted golf clubs. Each club head is with hand punched dot face markings, a thicker sole to keep the weight to the bottom of the club and fitted to a hickory shaft, finished off with new polished leather grips. The set comprises of six 'J.R. Smith' irons which include No.1 iron, No.2 iron, No. 3 iron, No. 4 iron, No. 5 iron and a Mashie Niblick. The shaft of the No.2 iron has been repaired and strengthened with whipping.

All that is missing from this set is a putter and a driver or brassie, we do have quite a selection in stock from other manufactures from which to choose from should you need any.

This set would be great for playing hickory golf with. The best balls for hickory play are low compression balls that will give at impact, such as ladies balls or soft feel balls.

Jack Smith was the professional at Hayling Island from 1921 – 1964, prior to this he was an assistant to his brother William who was the pro at Hayling before him (1912 – 1921).
