Vintage Pratts Metal Petrol Can.
An original 2 gallon Pratts petrol can complete with original brass screw cap. The gasoline can with the words 'Pratts Petroleum Spirit Highly Inflammable', and 3/-. 'Pratts' is impressed on the front of the can, 'Pratts' is also on the back and on both sides. These style of cans were known in the trade as a "Running Board" can. These cans were produced by the Valor Co. Ltd., which was owned by Anglo-American. They normally have numbers on the base of the can, i.e., 11 56, referring to the manufacturing date, Nov. 1956. The first number on this can has rusted away but there is a 26, dating it to 1926.
