Cecil Aldin Motoring Print, Hunting Print, A Check.
A motoring chromolithographic print by Cecil Aldin, published by Lawrence & Bullen Ltd. in 1903. The print would have been part of a pair and are titled 'A Check' and 'Gone Away'. This print is called 'A Check' and depicts a lady having broken down in her motor car and a huntsman has come to her rescue, framed in an old period oak frame.
Frame size:- 25 1/2 inches high, 31 inches wide.
Cecil Aldin (1870 - 1935) was a prolific painter, not only did he paint his dogs, the Inns and some golfing scenes. He was famous for his wonderful scenes of hunting and racing. Aldin was the Master of the South Berkshire Hunt and was elected a member of the Royal Society of British Artists in 1898.
