Vintage Velocette Motorcycle Crash Helmet.
A 'Centurion' pudding basin style motorcycle helmet, The Patent Pulp model. The helmet is painted black with a Velocette transfer to front. This helmet fitted with a leather headband and webbing straps keeping a space between the head and outer case of the helmet. Leather neck and ear flaps are also fitted as is a leather chin strap with buckle. The leather head band embossed 'the Centurion, Patent Pulp, Thetford, MFG. Co Ltd. Norfolk' with a British kite mark (BS 2001/56). The last image is of an old 'Centurion' advert.
Size stated as 7 / 57.
A very good helmet in excellent condition, approximately 54 cm internal circumference.
Display block not included but available to purchase.
Motorcycle helmets moved from two layers of pulp to Fibreglass in the 1950's.
