Pair of Taxidermy Tench in Glass Case by Cooper
Pair of Taxidermy Tench in Glass Case by Cooper
Taxidermy. Preserved Cooper Fish.
A pair of cased Tench by Copper in a nice bow fronted case with gilt lines. There is gilt inscription to the front 'TENCH, caught by H.C.Hall, at St. Margaretts, July 2nd 1905, Wgts. 3lb's 2oz. 3lb's'. The case contains a cleverly modelled pair of fish set against a painted backdrop with realistic river bed setting by arguably the best fish taxidermist 'J. Cooper'. A small trade label internally top right reads 'Preserved by J. Cooper & Sons, 28 Radnor Street, St. Luke's, London, E.C'.
